Mission
The One To One Ovarian Cancer Support Group was founded in March of 1997 with a mission to provide a forum for ovarian cancer survivors to express their concerns and hopes - and to offer them support, reassurance, and helpful guidance.
The support group is a great mix of women at different points in time since their initial diagnosis was received. It is a wonderful vehicle that helps a new survivor establish contact with other women as early as possible after ovarian cancer is diagnosed in order to reduce anxiety, fear, and isolation.
Through One To One, women have the opportunity to discuss concerns and possible misconceptions related to treatment in a safe, loving environment. The support group has become the missing link for many – the glue that joins mind, body, and spirit.
The special camaraderie that is shared helps survivors realize they are not alone in their battle against this disease. You can get information about new cancer treatments, receive encouragement from others, be inspired by the personal stories, laugh, and cry in a safe environment.

Over the last 20 years the support group has successfully grown to offer:
- A monthly newsletter which features informative articles, survivor stories, inspirational thoughts, as well as celebrating anniversaries of diagnosis (survivorsaries).
- Opportunities to share and connect one to one face to face during our monthly meetings which are the 2nd Thursday of every month. In many instances we organize other supportive events during the month, which may include in the medical field, Integrative Medicine or simply a fun activity to celebrate life.
- Gathering for dinner after monthly meetings provides further opportunity to build camaraderie and connection.
- Visit those newly diagnosed or those facing a recurrence or surgery during their hospital stay.
- Outreach by way of personal phone calls and/or cards, as additional support through their journey.
- Holiday Party held at local restaurants/halls, organized yearly.
- Weekend retreat held yearly in the Fall which gives our ladies an opportunity to reflect and relax in beautiful surroundings while listening to educational/motivational speakers along with fun activities.
- Patient Advocacy including taking patients to appointments, finding local clinical trials, researching new science and even building relationships with many of the Gynecology and Medical Oncology Physicians.
- Joining with other local Advocacy groups as well as on the state and national level.
